Fresh perspective

The long, warm days of summer are perfect for unwinding, relaxing, and if you're like me, catching up on podcasts.πŸŽ™οΈ I've always found that podcasts offer a unique way to rethink a familiar idea, which is why I'm thrilled to announce that we've quietly launched our very own: C-Suite Elevated. Our aim is to offer insightful conversations, expert viewpoints, and real-world experiences to transform how you identify, attract, and empower top talent.

In our first two episodes, Managing Partner Christie Angel tackles the strategic role of interim leadership.

In episode one, she chats with Sandra Murphy, Board Chair of YWCA Greater Flint. Next, she gets an interim leader's perspective with Terri Gehr, a seasoned transition leader. I hope you'll tune in on Apple, Spotify, or your favorite podcast platform.

Personally, I find podcasts to be an excellent escape from the current economic uncertainties facing our country. Across the board, we're seeing fewer job relocations as candidates choose to stay rooted in their current social and economic environments. This means even broad nationwide searches are yielding predominantly local and/or regional candidates and outcomes.

Unfortunately, this climate of uncertainty is impacting organizations in countless ways.

In particular, nonprofits are facing significant funding challenges, which provokes a critical question: What if the key to sustainability and an amplified mission lies in a bold, strategic move? Nonprofit mergers and acquisitions aren't about building an empire; they're about creating stronger, more resilient, and sustainable organizations. It's not a quick fix, but it is a powerful path to greater efficiency, financial stability, and expanded programmatic strength.

It’s also an excellent reminder that, especially during uncertain times, we must solve problems in creative and innovative ways.

Warmly,

Tracy McMillan
